I would never spend 23000$ in a 2004 mustang, whatever the engine... You cna get a C5 Z06 of the same year for the same price. And it's another world.

CP seems too high for me.

I've never gotten the deal with these retaining this much value.

CP. I see them all the time for half that with similar miles

Nah Terminators go for over 20k$ usually... They are expensive and it's about the normal price... It's just TOO expensive for what it really is...

But Mustang is a little more versatile the a Vette is.

It just has nowhere near the capablities of the Z06... If you want a fast high horsepower car that does it all, get an E39 M5... It's about the same weight as the Cobra, it's cheaper and it probably is better around a racetrack too...

Nope there is one for sale by me for 12,500 with 75k on it.

Then go get it because they are worth a lot more than that everywhere... what year is it? 2003 or 2004?

Can you send me the ad? If it's not TOO far, I think I'd drive to check it out lol

That's a really insane deal at this price... Go to the bank and get a loan... VERY easy flip to make a few thousands $$$

College student. I have no $ or credit to get a loan like that lol

Pretty par for the course if you're buying from a dealer

I'm just saying dealers tend to price their cars based on the market and not the actual value of the specific vehicle. I had this problem searching for my M3, the first car I looked at was laden with rust and tons of other issues ( http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/the-m3-saga-co… ) but the dealer wanted more money than the car I ended up buying was.
As for Terminator prices it seems most through a dealer are priced between 18-25k, for 22k I'd be damn sure it was super clean because I'm sure for that price you could get a nice one off of a mustang forum thats been cared for by an enthusiast.
The video was for entertainment.

Ah gotcha,
And I don;t have the kinda of cash to throw a a person but I have a trade in thats why I'm looking at dealers.

Do it. What pushed me to buy the M3 was that my Dad essentially told me to have no regrets and before life passes you by do the things you want to do; So I put cash down and financed the rest of it. Not the smartest thing I've ever done but I'm happier than a clam every time I strap myself in and start her up.

Terminators no longer go for over 20k unless they're heavily modded. SVTP has them for sale all year long in the 16-19k range. Sure people may TRY to sell them for 20k+, but they usually never sell for that unless mileage is super low or a rare-spec.

CP. 71k miles is a lot to ask ~23k. It's not worth 23k by a long shot. They're great cars, but they don't deserve the price most think they do. If you look long enough, you'll find them pop up all the time for 16-20k and be just as good as the 20-25k examples.
At 71k you're also going to be looking at replacing IRS bushings (thanks to Ford's decision on cheap vulcanized rubber throughout), and typical wear parts (clutch is normally the first thing to go especially if its ever been pullied). So definite CP.
Where do you live? Here is a Cobra in the same general area of the dealer for a much more reasonable deal (although still high IMO):

Look on SVTPerformance.com if you're really wanting to buy one. They know what its really worth, compared to half these people on craigslist think they're made of gold.

CP. Also, I'm fairly certain those MPG numbers are quoting the GT, not the Cobra.
It's at the high end of the spectrum though, so I'd say ~$20000 would be closer to fair, but nothing higher than that.

You should always plan for your future, but also enjoy the moment in case you don't get a future. A lot of people live frugal their whole life so they can be well off in retirement. Personally I'd rather take my vacations now while I can still do things. What's the point of going to hawaii just to take pictures and walk thru gift shops @ 65? My parents are retired and have money to go places but they don't because one of them has a doctors appointment every week, plus they don't want to board their dog. Such a shame!

Amen to that!
